About a month ago, I wrote an article for Restaurant News Resource, that explains how to expand your take out business. "Take Off By Adding Take Out" spells out a few strategies that restaurants can implement to really up their take out numbers. I've gotten some really great feedback on what I wrote, especially the idea of targeting your local community.
Let's face it, connecting with your local community is one of the keys to your restaurant's success. Think about the pizza shop that sponsors the local little league team, the eatery that donates food trays to neighborhood cleanup groups and the cafe owner who comes out and greets his or her guests—they're all participating in strengthening community spirit.
